Allow for PIN access

To open the Alby browser extension, I have to type in my password every time. (It is a complex password that I have to retrieve from my password manager.)

I suggest users should be able to access the extension by entering a PIN, rather than their password.

It will make it much easier for me to open the extension quickly, and as a result, I'll use it more often.

Attached a screenshot of the Strike extension that already supports PIN login access.

Thanks for reaching out! πŸ‘‹

You can choose whichever password you want, so you are technically able to choose a 4 digit PIN (or whatever you like) as your password.

That being said:
This password is used to encrypt your node credentials / wallet credentials while stored on disk. A 4 digit PIN doesn't offer much protection and can easily be brute forced. It's up to your risk assessment to decide on the strength of this password.

Thanks for the response, RenΓ© Aaron. It makes sense to restrict access to node credentials / wallet credentials with the password.

Would it be possible to offer "reduced access" PIN logins that would give access to less sensitive information? (i.e. ability to quickly "Login with Lightning" or send small payments?)

That would be an option. We have to think about proper rights management then.
